Key Highlights of the Super Seeder Project
- Affordable Machines for Farmers:
- Each super seeder costs about Rs 1.3 million, but farmers will only need to pay Rs 500,000. The Punjab government will cover the remaining cost, making it easier for farmers to access these valuable machines.
- Reducing Air Pollution:
- This project is not just about farming; it’s also about protecting our environment. By using super seeders, farmers can help reduce smog and air pollution, making the air cleaner for everyone.
- More Machines Available:
- Currently, there are only 300 super seeders in Punjab. The government plans to add a total of 5,000 super seeders over the next five years, helping even more farmers.
- Rental Service for Equipment:
- In addition to selling super seeders, the government will also offer a rental service for modern farming equipment at no profit. This service will be available in every tehsil within 60 days, helping those who may not want to buy the machines outright.
- Support for Farmers:
- The Punjab government has introduced the Kisan Card, which allows farmers to buy necessary farming supplies. So far, farmers have purchased around Rs 10 billion worth of inputs using this card.
